3 in1 Lighting Science STEAM handmad teaching tools

2023 iF student design award winner 〈Light&Shadow Lab〉 

在臺灣,七成縣市均設有偏鄉學校,多數偏鄉的孩童,處在不平等的受教機會中,為改善社會結構與制度是否達到教育平等,因而發現偏鄉孩童真正缺乏的是長期穩定陪伴、引導學習的重要角色。然而居住於偏鄉的家庭,家長普遍是勞工、藍領階級,而為了支撐家庭經濟,普遍需長時間在外工作,因而犧牲了陪伴與教育孩子的機會。
因此,我們提出了一個方案,邀請親子一同感受組裝與學習科學的趣味。
In Taiwan, 70 percent of counties and cities have schools in rural areas. Most children in rural areas face with education inequality. To improve social structure and system for education equality, it is discovered that children of rural areas really lack long-term and stable company and the key role in guidance for learning. 
Nonetheless, parents of families in rural areas are mostly workers and blue collars, who generally need to work long period of time outside the rural area in support of family finance. They often have to sacrifice their time and opportunities for companying and educating children. 
Therefore, we propose a plan to invite the parents and children to explore the fun of assembling and learning science together.


對應到聯合國SDGs 目標4 我們利用投影機的外觀與模式結合科學實驗內容去設計三合一動手做的教具,教具的主體採取使用過後的牛乳及飲料紙盒回收,不僅融入創意DIY來增添附加價值,還能創造循環經濟與永續利用。且教具將會結合開源軟體公開設計圖,提供給教育學者或偏鄉教師能搭配教學使用。
讓任何人都能製作這個教具,實現教育資源的共享和流通。

Corresponding to the Goal 4 of UN SDGs. 
We use the appearance and model of a projector combined with scientific laboratory to design a three-in-one hands-one teaching tool.The main unit of the teaching toolis made of recycled milk and drink cartons,which not onlyblend in the DIY creativity to add value butalso produce circular economy and sustainable use.Children are encouraged to use any material available at home.
Everyone can make this aid by themselves, and to implement the sharing and circulating of education resources.


結合親子共讀不僅讓孩童培養閱讀的習慣和興趣、還能增加親子間互動的時間,建立起良好的親子關係。結合三本科學繪本提供閱讀知識, 加入了活頁、拉頁呈現設計,並搭配DIY 說明手冊來組裝教材,讓學齡孩童從科學繪本獲得知識洗禮及組裝相關的技能。

The three science picture books are integrated to provide reading knowledge, adding pop-up pages to present the design incorporated with DIY user manual for assembly of teaching tools. School-age children can obtain knowledge from the science picture book and learn the relevant assembly skills.
